A young lady called me to seek my advice as an attorney. During my interview of her regarding her legal problem, I sensed a deep sadness about her, a shadow of grief hanging over her head. This was to be another Divine Appointment where His Kingdom of light would soon shine in the darkest of places.
After addressing her legal concerns, I asked her plainly, what is this sense of grief about you? She wasn’t offended. She replied by telling me this very sad chapter in her life,
“I had a wonderful little boy, only 11 years old; his name was Billy. Billy was the kind of boy who loved me with a very deep and special love. He did not know his father, I was his world, and he, mine.
That school year I will never forget, she continued. My precious son did not pass school. He needed to go to summer school to continue up to the next grade level. I was mad that he failed school so I told he could not go to summer school here, that he had to go and stay with his grandmother for the summer and go to summer school there. He cried, and cried, he begged and pleaded with me, “Mommie, let me stay here with you, please!’
For that brief time, I let my anger of Billy failing override his pleas to me time and again to not send him away for summer school.
Soon, I sent him to stay with his grandmother for summer. The weeks rolled by slowly because I missed him terribly, and he missed me his mother. Finally, it was the very last day of summer school…then it happened. Billy was running across the street from school. He didn’t make it, my little boy got hit by a large vehicle and killed him.”
This dear young mother’s sobbing continued. After hearing her story, my heart was grieved for her. I understand myself the special relationship a mother and child can sometimes have that runs very deep.
Then this dear young lady wept and cried out, “I just want to know, Where, Where is my little boy”? Deep sobs followed. Again, she cried out, “Where is my little boy!”
I recognized in my spirit that this was a set up from the Lord. Faith began to swell up in my heart from the Lord along with the passion of Christ for her that was in me.
Now let me pause right here and say, I could not make anything happen, I could not solve her problem, but when we feel the passion of Christ and His faith manifesting in us, we can yield ourselves as vessels thru which His Great Love and mercy can flow out to others.
By faith I spoke to her and said, I am going to lay my hands on your head and pray for you if that is alright with you.
“Yes, she replied,” and bowed her head.
I spoke these words of prayer by faith that rose up in me from the Savior,
“Dear Lord, you see this lady’s broken heart. She wants to know where little son Billy is. Will you please tell her in a dream tonight.”
You see friends, when God is in Something, you don’t need a long religious prayer, just a simple short pray prayed by faith in God’s loving kindness.
The next morning, I received a phone call, the voice was familiar and recognizable, but it was a joyous and happy voice of this young lady. She was so excited. She told me that that very night, she had a dream.
In the dream, her little Billy came to her. He told her, “Mommie I love you, do not cry anymore about me, mommie. I am with Jesus and I am so very happy. Some day you can come and be with me and Jesus for always. Bye for now mommie.”
This dream healed her broken heart, relieved her of the immense guilt and shame. Gave her assurance Billy was still alive and happy, and a hope that someday she would be with Billy again forever, never to be separated ever again.
Fellow Christians, this is the wonderful God and Savior that we serve, how great is our God. Immeasurable! Ha! Yes, Immeasurable, wonderful and pure goodness.
She was not the only deeply impacted by her dream…likely for the rest of her life, but obviously, so was I.
God’s loving revelation in answering her heart’s cry also gave me a better understanding of the unfathomable depths of His goodness and loving kindness of our Father God and our dear Savior Jesus Christ as He revealed where little Billy was…where all the little Billys of this world go, who seemingly go before their time: with Jesus in Heaven!

It is amazing to me that God didn’t just tell her where Billy was, He allowed Billy to tell her in his own words. Thank you, Jesus!
