As a young adult who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and studies the Bible, people sometimes wonder why I still watch things like Superbook, Gizmo’s Bible Byte, Douglas Talks, and Torchlighters – even though I also learn from adult KJV preaching, apologetics, and sites like GotQuestions.org.
For me, it’s connected to who I am.
My personality leans toward gentle teaching, emotional clarity, and symbolic storytelling. Children’s Christian videos speak in a tone that feels safe, compassionate, and steady — the same tone I naturally use in my own creative writing. They remind me of the softness Jesus Himself valued:
“Suffer the little children to come unto me… for of such is the kingdom of God.”
Mark 10:14 (KJV)
At the same time, the adult KJV teachings give me depth, doctrine, and answers to the harder questions. I need both. Scripture calls us to grow in understanding:
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
My creativity reflects this balance too. Some of my writing carries mature, reflective themes. Other pieces have a childlike, folktale softness – like the Indian?style stories I’ve written. My heart moves between the simple and the deep, the gentle and the thoughtful. So, it makes sense that my viewing habits do the same.
Superbook and Douglas Talks keep my heart soft.
Torchlighters feeds my love for history and moral courage.
KJV preaching and apologetics strengthen my understanding.
Together, they match my personality:
a blend of gentleness, curiosity, symbolism, and sincere faith.
It’s not about age.
It’s about what nourishes my spirit.
And in all of it, I want to stay close to the Lord with a tender heart:
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
Childlike softness and mature knowledge are not opposites.
They are two sides of the same walk with Christ.
“…with the lowly is wisdom.”
Proverbs 11:2 (KJV)
This is why I watch what I watch. Because it helps me follow Jesus with both simplicity and depth – the way He made my heart to grow.

A great story and great teaching is not about age; so true. There is a powerful animated teaching that tells the “unified story” of the Bible called Bible Project. Have you heard of it? I thought of it when I read this. It’s in many languages and I’ve learned a lot from the videos because of the simplicity of their approach to storytelling.
I just looked at it today and it seems useful.
