Verse:
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.” — Matthew 25:40
It was an ordinary evening in Bradenton, Florida. I had just picked up dinner and was driving home, thinking about how good it would feel to finally sit down and eat.
Then I saw him, a young man walking near the Starbucks parking lot, alone in the dark. Something inside me stirred. It was that unmistakable tug of the Holy Spirit saying, Turn around.
At first, I argued with myself. My dinner was getting cold, and stopping wasn’t part of my plan. But the feeling grew stronger, so I listened. I turned the car around and pulled up beside him.
When I handed him the money and looked into his face, I froze. His eyes — the clearest, most piercing blue eyes I’d ever seen — almost glowed. They were filled with a light and peace that stopped me in my tracks. In that instant, I knew. I was looking into the eyes of Jesus.
As I drove away, tears streamed down my face. I could hardly catch my breath. My dinner didn’t matter anymore. Something sacred had happened, something that changed me forever.
Since that night, whenever I see someone in need, I think of those eyes. I remember that Jesus still walks among us, in the faces of the lonely, the poor, the addicted, the broken. He waits for us to see Him, to stop, and to love without hesitation.

Praise the Lord for your obedience!
About two months ago I had shared here how I missed a chance to show love to a boy in need of bread and it worried me for weeks.
About two weeks ago I had another chance. I had some money and decided to get some gas for my car that would get me more than half tank full about 50 liters.
But before I got to go to the filling station, other unexpected expenses reduced the projected money by about 40%. So, imagine my discomfort when as my car was being filled with 30 liters, a biker appeared almost from nowhere looking very scruffy and dirty, greeted me very familiarly and asked me to assist him with some fuel to get to the next town! For a split second as I thought what my response would be, the attendant asked me not to listen to him and I almost agreed. But then I asked her “do you know him?”
Thinking he might be a familiar scammer, and she said No.
So, I asked her to stop and give him the rest of the fuel. It was remaining about 3 litres. And he thanked me as I drove off.
Much later I became happy I had helped someone else in need and noted that I almost missed it again.
So, it’s really more blessed to give than to receive and as scriptures says- sometimes we entertain angels unknowingly or like in this testimony the Lord Himself.
That’s awesome! May we always be sensitive to Holy Spirit and what He would have us do every day.
Godwin, I am happy that you got another chance, and you made a difference in someone’s life this time. I pray the Lord will bless you spiritually and financially because of your obedience and generosity.
Thank you David. I say a big AMEN to your prayers. I believe I have a calling in that direction.
Be the Good Samaritan I’m glad you did thank you to help those in need.
