I want to give God all the glory for success in my career.
I am a resident physician in Internal Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, USA. There is an examination called USMLE step 3, that all residents are supposed to write before the third year of residency. I was scheduled to write the examination in March this year, before the completion of my second year of training (June 30, 2020).
However, the Covid-19 pandemic struck. The scheduled examination was cancelled due to the lock-down. I was very worried about the implication of not writing the exam before my 3rd year of residency. I am immigrant and it could affect my job and immigration status.
However, I was able to take the exam in early June 2020 following relaxation of the lock-down. I could barely study for the exam because of the increased work at my hospital due to Covid-19 surge. I prayed to God that if he grants me success, I will testify to his glory.
I am extremely grateful to God because I passed the exam comfortably, even with limited preparation. It is only God who can do it. I am also thankful for God’s grace and protection over me and my family (being a front-line health worker) in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. God never fails. He is forever God. All glory be unto him. In Jesus name.
