Man and Clouds

God is our HEALER. He is our Provider.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers when you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” James 1:2

Tuesday night, I was out of town when I got a call from home that my dad was rushed to the hospital. Upon hearing that, I tried to stay positive, not letting myself to worry. Upon arriving at the hospital, I learned that it was the same condition that he was suffering several years ago where he coughs or at worst vomits with blood. Based on the doctor’s initial diagnosis it was tuberculosis. That same day, my sister went to the hospital for a checkup because she’s not feeling well.

Thursday, my dad was still at the hospital, and my mom decided to take my sister to the hospital because she’s not getting better. Based on her symptoms, it was suspected as Dengue, a viral disease of the tropics, transmitted by mosquitoes. Based on the test results, it was. She was confined together with my dad at the same hospital. That same night, I have to leave away from home, because my first ever job was about to start the next day. My mom was the only one left to look after them. It was really hard to leave my family at that state.

While I was in the bus that night, I cried to God asking Him for deliverance and a miracle. My dad and my sister’s condition got worse. One has to undergo more tests, the other needs to be transfered to another hospital. I was really worried about the two, but I was more worried about my mom who is emotionally weak, and she has to take care of everything alone.

All I can do is to ask God for help and ask people I know to pray for my family. But God is good. Upon arriving at my workplace, I got a notice from my employer that instead of that day, I will start my work a week later. I rushed back home to assist my mother. I can sense that she was really tired and burdened Praise God there were brothers and sisters in Christ who were helping my mom at the hospital, also giving her spiritual encouragements.

After a few days, my dad was discharged followed by my sister. Another problem was the hospital bills, we have to pay a very large sum of money and we don’t have that amount. Seeing my mother shocked who was about to cry because of the bills really breaks my heart but as the only one left by her side, I have to stay strong for her.

“But it is God who makes a way when there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. “

This was the GREATEST TRIAL I’ve encountered in my life. There were times that I would like to question God why these things have to happen to us. But I believe God won’t allow things to happen without any reason. I know that this is a test in life and God wants us to learn something from it. It is in times of trials that we see how God works. Without any sickness, there is no healing. Without need there is no divine provisions. If we choose to entrust all our problems and worries in His hands, he will be the one to give us the strength to stand strong and he will give peace in our hearts.

God is always good. He will never leave us. When life knocks us down, we are the perfect position to pray. in James 5:13 it says, “If any of you is in trouble, he should pray…”. In verse 16 it also says, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” There is POWER in PRAYER. Remember, GOD IS INCOMPARABLY GREATER THAN OUR PAINS AND PROBLEMS no matter how BIG these are.

I am thankful that God healed my family and that He provided everything. My dad is recovering right now. Please pray that God would heal him completely. I praise God for everything He has done.
