God Is Bigger Than What You Face

I’ve never shared my whole story like this before, but I feel like God has brought me too far to stay quiet about what He has done in my life.

I was born in Ocala, Florida, and I never knew my biological parents. I was raised by my great-grandparents for the first few years of my life. When I was only four years old, I witnessed my great-grandmother have a heart attack while she was sleeping. From there, life became difficult very quickly.

I had to grow up much faster than a child should have. I experienced things that no child should have to experience. I went through abuse, trauma, anger, fear, and situations that left me feeling like I always had to be ready for something bad to happen.

Eventually, DCS became involved, and in 2015 I was adopted.

I thought things would finally get better, but I continued to struggle. I dealt with childhood trauma and PTSD, spent years on medication, went through counseling, probation, court, and even spent time in a mental hospital.

Through all of it, I had people telling me about Jesus.

But honestly, I struggled to believe He was really there.

I wondered, “If God is real, why am I going through all of this?”

Then in December 2021, something changed.

My Uncle Brent and Aunt Angie put together a puppet show, and while I was there, something finally clicked.

For the first time, I truly understood what Jesus had done for me.

I realized that even though I had messed up and carried so much anger and pain, Jesus still loved me. He still wanted me. And He had made a way for me to be forgiven.

So, I prayed.

I asked Jesus to forgive me. I asked Him to help me turn away from the things that had taken over my life.

I accepted Jesus as my Savior, and I was baptized at my home church.

My life didn’t magically become perfect after that.

I still had battles.

But looking back now, I can see God working in ways I couldn’t see at the time.

God put people in my life who helped me when I needed them most. My Aunt Angie and Uncle Brent have been there for me when I felt like nobody else was. My teachers and mentors have encouraged me and helped me realize that I actually have a future.

Today, I’m in a much better place than I ever thought I’d be.

I’m working on my future. I’m getting work-based learning experience. I’m continuing to work through my past. I’m learning how to have peace instead of always living on edge.

And most importantly, I’m learning to see God more clearly.

I still have hard days.

I still have things I’m working through.

But I don’t feel alone anymore.

When I look back at everything I’ve been through, I realize something:

God was there the whole time.

He was there when I couldn’t see Him.

He was there when I was angry.

He was there when I felt forgotten.

He was there when I thought I had reached rock bottom.

And when I thought there was no possible way He could come through and save me…

He did.

That’s why I want to share this:

God is bigger than what you face.

Your past isn’t bigger than God.

Your mistakes aren’t bigger than God.

Your pain isn’t bigger than God.

Your fear isn’t bigger than God.

And you are never too far gone for God to reach you.

If you’re struggling right now, please don’t give up.

You may not see the way forward yet.

You may not understand what God is doing.

But keep going.

Keep praying.

Keep seeking Him.

Because sometimes what feels like the end of your story is actually where God is getting started.

**I thought I was at the end.

But God was just getting started.**

God is bigger than what you face.
