Hello, my name is Rituraj, and I am 35 years old. I was born into a loving Hindu-Punjabi family. However, my journey took an unexpected turn when, during my 9th and 10th grades, my eyesight began to deteriorate. By the time I reached engineering college in 2009, I could only see the blackboard from the first seat. Despite this, I persevered and continued my studies.
In 2013, during my final year of engineering, I experienced a severe drop in my hemoglobin levels to 4. After a series of tests, I was given the devastating news that both of my kidneys had shrunk and there was no cure. I was immediately put on dialysis. It was a time of great struggle and uncertainty, but through the grace of God, I found immense support from my family and friends.
One of the brightest lights during this dark time was my dialysis technician, Tarik Bhai. He became a close friend, treating me as if I were part of his own family. On holidays, he would take me out on his bike, offering me moments of normalcy and joy amidst the challenges.
During my dialysis journey, I was introduced to Jesus by my Christian friend, Happy, and his aunt. Their visits to my home, where they sang devotional songs and prayed, brought me immense peace and comfort. I began to feel a connection to the faith they shared with me.
After five years on dialysis, in July 2018, I received a life-changing call. A cadaveric transplant was available from a person who had tragically attempted suicide. I prayed fervently for him, hoping against hope that he would survive. But late one night, he was declared brain dead, and the doctors told me,
“Now it’s time.”
On the morning of July 6, my transplant was performed. However, the new kidney did not start functioning for 15 agonizing days. During this period, my father’s childhood friend, Jessy Aunty, visited me in the hospital. She prayed for me, gifting me a small Bible and a rosary. I placed them beside my pillow and slept.
Miraculously, the next day, my urine output began. The doctors were amazed as my urine bag started filling up rapidly. Within just two days, the bag was removed, and my hemoglobin, creatinine, and other parameters returned to normal.
It was in that moment of divine intervention that I decided to give my testimony. However, fear kept me silent for far too long. Today, I stand here, sharing my story, hoping for God’s forgiveness for my delay.
Through this journey, I have learned the power of faith, friendship, and the miracles that can happen when you believe. Thank you for allowing me to share my story.
Hey Rituraj, I love your story, how you grew and kept the faith during your long journey. God bless you and thanks for sharing with all of us!
Thank you so much for sharing your testimony, Rituraj. Your journey to Christ is truly inspiring and a powerful reminder of God’s transformative power. I was particularly moved by how you found peace and purpose after accepting Christ. It’s amazing to see how your faith has impacted your life and relationships.
Thank you so much Ritu for your testimony. Indeed our God is full of compassion and He is ready to rescue us from every situation. He is also the greatest physician. Jesus wants us to have a relationship with Him. I just have a little concern, I don’t know whether you are born again now. You said that Jessy gave you a rosary and I was concerned about that. If you have it you need to throw it away. It is more often used as an object of idol worship. The purpose of the rosary is to make you believe that it has power yet the Word of God warns us against having such objects. Our trust and faith must be in Jesus Christ alone and nothing else. If you became a catholic by any chance you need to abandon this religion. That’s the will of Christ for your life. Look for a Bible based pentecostal or evangelical church and give your life to Jesus. I tell you this because I was a former catholic monk and I know a host of false doctrines in the catholic church which are dangerous to your salvation; doctrines like purgatory, contacting the dead, having other mediators other than Christ and much more. Let me know whether you are born again or not; so we can lead you into salvation. Thank you.
