A Decision to Stand on His Word

This is a testimony of my decision to obtain peace of mind by force of the Truth of God’s word.
Some months ago the story of the first miracle by Peter and John in Acts 4 caught my attention. Not the miracle per se but the fact that after all the uproar and personal sufferings they went through, when they prayed, their prayer struck me as strange. They didn’t ask God to punish the authorities that had arrested, imprisoned and suffered them, instead they asked God for more boldness to faithfully keep preaching! Infact I was really touched by their faith and selflessness.

So today, June 6th is my birthday. We couldn’t mark it, not even to buy a birthday card! I tried hard not to be depressed in the light of all the troubles that not only remain unsolved but have multiplied. So, by God’s mercies I decided to fight back squarely by Faith – I told Jesus, your word says You are a very present help in time of trouble, so I choose to believe your word and cast my problems on you. I know you are here, and you will help us and I know this flood of problems won’t sweep us away or will these fires burn us to destruction.

And immediately I received peace. And I know He is faithful to enable me to stand my ground this way until He intervenes.
